Combiwave SF 25 mcg/250 mcg Inhaler is a combination of two medicines: Salmeterol and Fluticasone. Salmeterol is a long-acting bronchodilator which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Fluticasone is a steroid which stops the release of certain natural substances that cause inflammation (swelling) in the airways. Together, they make breathing easier. Combiwave SF 25 mcg/250 mcg Inhaler is used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. Salmeterol has a slower onset of action but gives a more effective protection against histamine induced bronchoconstriction and longer duration of bronchodilation lasting for approximately 12 hours. The potent anti-inflammatory action of Fluticasone improves the symptomatic control of asthma and permits the reduction of other drugs like rescure bronchodilators. This significant anti-inflammatory action decreases the risk of decline in lung function over time.
